Friday Brain Teaser
Does anyone have any ideas as to what this is?
It is off the supply side of an old cast iron radiator in a home. It used to be a steam system but is now hot water.
Can this be removed?

My guess
is an offset union type adapter with a built in debris cleaning port.
Now keep in mind I'm no steam expert but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.0 -
That Appears to be
A Dunham Adjustable Regulating Fitting, Type 196. Under the cap is (or was) an adjustable orifice style regulator.
Does this unit have heating problems?
