2-pipe steam venting question
In 'The Lost Art of Steam Heating" chap.9-"Two Pipe Steam" says NOT to add an air vent to a cold radiator, on a two pipe gravity return.Although it would work!!,-steam would enter Both sides to exit out vent.
Then later in chapt.9, it says its ok to vent Top of Riser vents on the supply, before hand valve, for more even heat to all floors.Whats the difference? and in the first example how can steam travel up the return, thru thermostatic trap(closed),and out vent?/ I am a big fan of this book.Thanks0 -
this is my take on that
