Help!! Can't get ONE room to heat up; forced hot water system;
My thanks in advance for you help.
I have a 'forced hot water' home heating system.
In one of my zones, one bedroom will not heat up.
I've bled the system a couple of times, but room still stays cold.
The thermostat is in that room.
other rooms overheat.
Any Ideas.0 -
1. Possibility. I've had this problem for a while.
2. When I purge I shut off both valves going to zone1 so it is isolated; shut off valve comming down from zone2 into boiler; bleed zone2 via the regular nozzle into bucket.
3. Circulator? not sure what that is.
4. how do I increase pressure?

pay someone to bleed it properly and show you how to do it,-----if you dont know how to raise the pressure in the system --you will create more problems when you bleed -0 -
Do you have
a radiant system (in the floor or ceiling) or else baseboard, radiators, etc.?
Check inlet and outlet piping to the zone and make sure there are no closed valves. I just had a job the other day with the same problem. Turns out the (manual) TRV was screwed all the way in, blocking hot water.0 -
I have baseboards. My zone is made up of 4 rooms. All heat up except this one. the thermostat is in this room, and since the room does not heat up, the thermostat allows heat to flow to all other rooms. becomes to hot0 -
You could move
the thermostat.
Mark go to bed and leave AB alone.
Sounds like an air problem to me. A picture of the zone valve area would show us it you could power bleed the zone.0 -
Sounds like a frozen line to me....
Get some fans to move the heat from the over heating rooms in to the cold room, and make sure you know how to shut off the make up water and electricity to the boiler in case the pipe has been breached.
If possible, put electric heaters in the room to help get it above freezing. If you have set back thermostats, disable the set back function during extremely cold weather conditions.
If you find where the BB has frozen, find out why and plug the air/heat leaks.
