Glycol PH, percentage, inhibitors?

I have a system that I was called in to add on to. The glycol is propylene, 40%, and the ph is 8.1. When I pulled one of the circs it seemed like there was alot of rust (?) in the circ. The only ferrous items on the whole system are the circs. Is that normal? Is there some kind of inhibitor(treatment) that could be added when I add more fluid to the system?
Thanks,
Rob

sounds like the O2
scavangers in the glycol are used up. without knowing what brand glycol was installed it should run 10- 10.5. Yours is a bit low. How old is the fluid? How much is in the system?
Sometimes dumping, cleaning, flushing and adding new fluid is a better long term solution. Then you know it is done correctly.
Is there a fill system connected? Be sure the system is not taking on any fill water. An Axiom feeder may be another option. One or two callbacks pay for it, should the pressure drop off and lockout the heat..
