Guys,
I want to adjust the anticipator on a old chronotherm
thermostat by one setting to have the boiler wait longer between cycles. The boiler currently short cycles.
Would I move the adjustment arm closer to the 1.2 setting or back to the numbers which are like .5 etc.
Thanks..........

Move it toward the 1.2, say half way from where it is now. Then in smaller bits until you hit your sweet spot.0 -
Thanks,
I will move it in one-half increments.
How many times /hour should the system cycle on/off?0 -

Try for twice an hour, from on to on again, when the outside temps are around 30F. Some experimenting over the heating season should show you the best setting for twice an hour.0 -
cycles per hour

Try it, and let me know what you get. The old Honeywell T87 was the best thermostat for steam.0
