pressuretrol

Gentlemen,

I have a PA404a honeywell pressuretrol.
What would be a good replacement(that wouldn't cost an arm
and a leg). I find this pressuretrol to be not to accurate.
Thanks.

go for a vaporstat,[0-16 ounce, Patriot-Supply ].it will keep the pressure in the right 3-10 ounce range, improve comfort and save money. it does cost more than the regular pressuretrol, but the results are worth it. while your at it, a good low pressure gauge [gaugestore.com 0-3 psi], on the same new pigtail will show you where your system is pressure-wise.--nbc

Thanks, I will look into it.
Is this something I could hook up myself? Only seems like a two wire connection.Whats a good pigtail brass?
I guess I would hook up a T for both the vaporstat and gauge.
    Thanks.............

yes and you will gain greater knowlege of your system by doing so.even the warmth from the radiators will feel cozier as a result.

your pressuretrol must now be on a pigtail, so you need a new copper or brass one with a tee, 2 brass nipples, and 2 brass elbows. this will give you a place for the vaporstat and the low pressure gauge. the old 0-30 gauge must stay for code reasons.

naturally, iassume your main line venting is good as well.--nbc
