Many of you are experiencing below design conditions as we are here in Colorado. Here are 2 examples of what these high efficiency boilers can do if they are not vented correctly.
The first 2 photos are one of my installs. I like to vent my boilers through the roof rather then through the wall, but on this job we poked the 2 pipes through the side of the chase instead of through the top, per the owners request. The vent is about 6 feet directly above the air intake. There was enough dripping from the vent to totally plug the air intake. My solution will probably be to elbow the vent to the side so the drips do not drop on the air intake.
The third photos is not my install. It is on a house that we are remodling. This is why I like to vent through the roof.

Is the vent in that third pic
higher than the highest recorded snow accumulation for your area?
Something tells me it isn't........

Most concentric wall vents I've seen require 6 feet from an adjacent wall. I'd worry about wind curling up in there and tripping draft safeties.

As you can see in this photo, it is not exactly in a corner. It is a fence with a brick pillar. Still, not the best place to put it. I wonder how much deterioration will happen on the brick and iron gate.
