of what must have been a top-choice this Christmas!!! Good grief. Battling hordes of moms and dads to wedge this Santa's torso through a bumper-person madness in toy stores has severely tested my nerve endings(G). Last night, just past midnight (I long swore I'd never shop in the wee hours), a new shipment was being stocked in the decimated aisles that resembled a war-zone. Frazzled stock persons were only too happy to unburden their personal tales of the thundering horde's attack earlier that day. And - there it was - the sought-after gift. "Just in and there's only three - they won't be here come morning." I told him it was for some kid I'll never meet who might not get any other presents & we both shared a smile. Gotta love a store that doesn't close(G).

Everywhere I went & online too. Truth be told, I'd just about resigned myself to getting his 2nd & 3rd choices, but the tone of his letter to 'Santa' makde it crystal-clear he really wanted his #1 pick. Had it not been for Handel's Messiah (took Mom to the choral concert) last night - a sing-along for each of the chorus responses - and our late-night return home, I'd have been sleeping at that hour. Lois said "Let's go see if we can't find what you're looking for." So, me not in my night-cap & she not in her gown - off we went to the 24/7 aisles of Walmart.

I can't begin to convey how relieved I was to find what was requested. I'm not too sure who is getting the best gift - that young lad or the 'Santa' in me, but tis the season for sharing some joy.
