Motor on thermal protection lockout. . .

Hey everyone I just installed a Beckett CF800 oil gun firing 5-8. Everything is normal, installed like any other, but the motor is going out on thermal protection. There is a red button on top of the motor housing that acts as a circuit breaker. On the first startup and on any resets, the motor goes "BUZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ" for about 5 seconds and then trips. The 7184 then goes on protected reset. The motor does not spin at all - and my oil dealer closes at 12. Any suggestions on getting this thing to run? I could use the help and happen to be in a building where I can use the computer.

check to see if fan housing is catching either the motor housing or burner housing

also check to see if burner coupling is too tight. loosen bolts a little and see if that helps. If it does, cut burner coupling down a little and problem should be fixed.

Thanks for the input guys. It was a bum motor out of the box. Bent case on the bottom, shaft was completely seized. What a day; I had to remove the old 3450 rpm motor from the burner I was pulling, fight with the scroll cage to get it off, remount the new cage, trim the shaft 1/8", and mount until monday when I can throw the Beckett motor at the guy at my oil dealer. It took a 4 hour job and turned it into 7. I swear by Beckett too, so I feel personally insulted that I got such a heap of crap.

Anyway the advice you gave me was helpful for the next time.
