It comes but once a year...

OK, so it lasts for eight nights... Tonight, my Susan brings the brisket (incredible, -both of them), someone else brings the latkes and blintzes... chocolate "gelt" (and other forms of guilt :), dreidels, candles, the menorah... that Adam Sandler song...

    The kids are almost ready...

Growing up as a Goyim in Brookline, MA, was good preparation for this...

I want to wish all good luck, good health, ease of your burdens and many blessings... Sunset is in 15 minutes, let there be light!

  • Chanukah

Holiday just came in on the West Coast. Candles, Latkes and Brisket. Yes Indeed.

    Who knew? Wallies celebrating Hanukah.

    Chag Sameach!

By the way, a good wife of any background is a blessing, but a Jewish wife ... ah la creme de la creme!
  • Can you,,,

email me a blintz or two? ;)

    !

A "Freilichen Chanuka" to all! That means every Wallie, regardless of denomination, and regardless of what's "lit up" in your respective homes. May the holidays bring warmth and peace to all!

PS- For anyone interested, the ideal earliest time to light the Menora is nightfall. You can find that exact time for your location by plugging in your zipcode at: http://www.myzmanim.com/ Happy lighting!

    Oy!

Thanks, David- I knew that, but my fast fingers racing against the sun.

Shen came up way too much at dreidel. But we all won :)
We had the spelling conversation, Shen, Shin, Dreidel, Dreydl... a mix of Ashkenazim and Sephardim at the table... that, some wine, made for a lively evening. Enjoy!
