Burner question

I had a similar problem lately, I just happened to be standing there and it went down and relit turned out to be the transformer on its way out. replaced the transformer and its fine. before that you may want to check the resistence on the cad cell harness, may have got pinched under transformer or primary I'm assuming it's a hot water boiler and not steam with a low water cutoff with intermittent level check. Is pump pressure and vacume o.k. good luck

Beckett question
What would cause a burner to come on,go off, come on, go off and then come on and run normal ? Customer hears his Burnham boiler with the AFG do that at times. It has a new primary control, burner motor, cad cell, and electrodes. Any ideas ?0 -
Is it a mercury themostat??
Check your themostat if you have taco zone valve be sure your heat intiscapator is set at .09 .If it is a mercury themostat and a close call for heat it may tip over slide back do this once or twice then when there is a bigger temp. difference it will come on and run.0 -
define
Define on and off.Do you mean everything is shutting down and then coming back on or just the flame?
If its the flame then the oil pump trying to pump with a high vaccum can do that.
