vacuum breakers

To my knowledge, dishwashers have built-in air gaps, therefore do not need separate protection. Ice makers require an atmospheric vacuum breaker. I've just finished two restuarants in Brooklyn, installed that, way without a hassel.Remember, just because a $30,000 a year inspector says something "thingy" doesn't mean he is all ways right. I feel that it is up to the inspector to quote "the book" with paragraph number to prove their point. When ever any inspector writes a violation, they must include the section of code they are quoting.

vacuum breakers nyc plumbers
any plumbers know official ruling of dept. of health [ food handling div. ] for backflow protection of commercial dishwasher & ice machine. violation notice specifies vacuum breaker . [ atmospheric or pressure ???? ] but inspector verbally used term backflow but described it as a mushroom thingy. a watts 9D WOULD PROBABLY BE APPROVED BUT IS NOT RATED FOR HEALTH HIGH HAZARD . Hate to take a shot & have to do job twice because breakdown in communications.0 -
