janitrol gmp furnace blower ?

in THE MAIN WALL
i just went to my friends house to check out his furnace --he's been having vibration issues ---well it wasn't running so we fixed that issue --ran the unit the blower sounds as if the bearings may be going on the blower the unit was installed in 2002 its a downflow unit the unit is in a closet 2nd floor -no room around the sides ,waterheater on the right wall on the left --is there any way to access the blower with out removing the unit ? Janitrol gmp 85 downflow 80% gas furnace ----i'm almost thinking of replacing with a 95% variale speed -like the Goodman GDV95 70,000 btu --but i need to check pricing if he can swing it if not i'll just change the blower and run it for another year or 2
