I need a quick Math Check...

Can someone please check my math...
I am working on venting a 1 pipe steam system with 58.5' of 2" and 17.8' of 1 1/4" main and am only coming up with 1.52 ft3 of air to vent. It seems low to me.
Here is how I am calculating it...
(58.5 x .023) + (17.8 x .01) = 1.3455 + .178 = 1.5235
Thanks.
Jeff

Volume check
Close enough. Depends on your materials & fittings, but STD weight steel pipe works out to 1.55 cu. ft. (give or take).0 -
I get
1.54817 cubic feet.
More or less0 -
less
Ok I vote for less. I get 1.427 ft^3. I assumed the diameter is ID (conservative) and assumed at atmospheric pressure. here's the math:
vol=(pi)*radius^2*length soooooo for the 2"
(3.14159)*0.0833^2*58.5=1.275ft^3
for the 1.25"
(3.14159)*0.05208^2*17.8'=0.152 ft^3
for a grand total of 1.427 (actually less as there is wall thickness.)0 -
Correct
1.4266 Cu. Ft.0
