they will leak/ spit water if there are other issues of piping or poor water quality... as will others. I like on especially large rads.

Are Varivalves good steam vents? Do they leak steam. any opinions?0 -
planning on installing these things too. but until i can fine tune my radiators, is it safe to put these in? will water and pressure damage these valves? or should i buy cheap ones until my project is done?

vent selection
buy good quality hoffman or gorton for the rads. spend even more time on getting your main vents working right. i believe the main vents are doing 75-85% of the work of air removal, so if you can get the air out of the main lines before you hit 3 oz, system pressure, you are doing alright.
a low pressure gauge 0-5 psi helps you know what's happening; and a vaporstat makes sure it will happen!--nbc0
