Just curious what brands you guys use and like. We have been looking closely @ Water Furnace & Florida Heat-Pump.

    Look at

Heatcontroller and their configurations vs Waterfurnace and Florida. The boxes look like they came out of Jackson MI, only the control boards know for sure.

I use Heat Controllers Comfort Maker stuff, for the most part their tech crew uses pump and dump, but I install it closed system. Their integrated controls and sensors are good. You need to read the instructions.

You need to know all about moving water to make the best system.

    GSHP's

I've installed a few Hydron Module's and been very impressed. They seem to be a well thought out machine. I like the fit and finish right down to the case (stainless steel). They have models that do combination hydronic and forced air also.

For larger commercial jobs we've done Climate Master and Water Furnace. I personally like the CM a little better.

    Joel,

We are doing a 5 ton closed loop system with two vertical bores at 465'! We will have a glcol mix in the loops. It's for a commercial building that will have four forced air zones. It's our first LEED project also....

    I'm looking at Mitsubishi...

They have a feature that others OUGHT to have, but still don't, that feature being variable speed.

They've just recently come out with a GSHP version. I'm actually looking forward to applying their inverter technology on my next GSHP application.

We've lost over half of the compressors in our GSHP installations (WFI)...

    Five tons

    per zone?
  • Only have one in

So I really cant compare. I installed a ClimateMaster water to water in my own home, 3 ton pump and dump. Works great so far. The unit is factory sealed no vac, no brazing. I did drop a new Franklin constant pressure pump down the well first and did a draindown line with a vac breaker to the pipe to the creek,I used a 40 gallon solar tank as a buffer, probably the easiest boiler I ever put in.

    geo brand

I have used Waterfurnace the last couple times, but other brands since 1979. The last two were my first closed loop and have been working very well. Interconnecting with utility programs has been a tough, as no one company has a control and the utility programs are not all the same. They are required to offer conservation programs by the state public utility commission (MN) but not required to make it easy to deal with. All in all the gshp systems hve been much more reliable than in past years. Best regards

    heat with Daikin

who cares? the geo only heats hot water when the unit is running there is no dhw call for heat that brings the unit on so on a mild day it does nothing and with a 15% savings over geothermal (without figuring in the well cost)buy a high eff water heater if it is a big deal. big things are on the way from Daikin

    Check this out from REHAU-RAUGEO

REHAU left the plumbing business because plumbing pex is a commodity that's in a race to the bottom. REHAU is focusing on low temp radiant floor heating, radiant cooling, solar and geothermal. Their vision is 20 years down the road...

    Rick

    Watch them grow

They are the leading edge. They thought they wanted to sue me for building a radiant floor in a pond. I use it for a water to water system.

I will be puting loops in footers when possible.
