Someone went overboard with this piping ( Ron Jr. )
We use Taco products extensively - circulators , flow valves , PRVs , multizone relays and the PC700-2 outdoor reset control . We went overboard with the circs again . Next multizone install I want to try zone valves with a VS circ . We'll see what happens .

I've seen alot
of curious piping strategies before , but this one takes the cake . Two 7 section Weil Mclains , 10 zones in all . The boiler on the right was able to be reached to be cleaned up till 2005 - when that big indirect was installed . The boiler on the left was impossible to get to at any time . To make matters more challenging , there was an air handler in front of the 2 units , maybe 3 feet away . I'll never understand why so much stuff has to be crammed into such a small area in a cavernous basement . A basement without a cellar entrance .....0 -
Am I overboard..
..by saying "What the F@#K? is that?" Like, someone left the basement saying "Man! Now that looks good! We did a great job! It's (insert favorite flavor beer, here) time!"

Looks good, Ron
As usual :-)!

Thats
Pumptastic........
Got you beat though, 13 007's on this one
Also, considering the size of those boilers, isn't that manifold way undersized??? How many BTU's are they producing, 400-500k between the 2 units I would think. That Manifold should be 2" assuming that the boilers aren't 4x oversized.0 -
Nice work
How long did you have on that ?
Ours was a 2 dayer . I always wonder what we can do if we had the luxury of time to do something like your work of art .
1 1/4 inch supply manifold will work just fine for this system . All the heating zones were 3/4 baseboard , except for a small 1/2 inch pex radiant floor in a bathroom . And of course , the indirect which was on priority .0 -
Exactly
I bet someone at sometime gave themself a nice pat on the back after adding a zone or the heater to this system . I see it all the time - noone gives any consideration to the poor serviceman who's gotta attempt the impossible to clean the units . Thanks alot Ross .0 -
Can't take credit for that one, it's a friend of mines house. The piping work was good, but the control strategy was poor if you ask me. No ODR, No Post Purge. Its a nice boiler, but the system could be better.

yep..........and even the building owner will say...............
"...I know these guys did an awesome job...everyone who sees this job can't believe the 'craftsmanship.' sad and funny at the same time. Just because all the circs are lined up and lots a "long Island Heating Menorahs" are in place, does NOT mean this install is ready for the magazine showcase. Mad Dog
