Oil heat savings

Hello to all on the wall and Dan. Thanks for all the great information to all on the wall. This past year I insulated my building by about an R30 value (from 0). From 11/27/07 to 12/14/07 I used 391.4 gallons of oil for 447.5 HDD. From 11/17/08 to 12/5/08 I used 190.8 gallons of oil for 461.5 HDD. That was a savings of about 200.6 gallons, does this sound right? I hope so. Happy Holidays to all.

I believe that this year here in NYC, there have significant more degree days, than last year. Your savings calculations actually would increase, here.0 -
Thanks Ted. The building is in Nassau County NY. I used LGA for HDD numbers.0 -
Sorry . . . I didn't read closely enough to see that HDD's ae the same as (my) degree days0
