Is that the circulator's control box next to the pump?

I have a typical,
if possible, 3 zone(with H/B ZVs), Mono-Flo system on CIBB. My HL is only about 45-50K, so I chose the TT Solo 60 with a small 30G indirect. But my ΔT is only about 8-10F.
I currently use a 15-58 on speed 1. With my old WM millivolt GV during our ice storm of 98 the system worked fine on gravity.
My design temp is -06F, and my high end "cap" is 126F, velocity noise is non-existent.
So I am well within condensing range.
I like Taco stuff, but do you think a 00-VDT would be of any benefit?
Thoughts?,, C`mon jb, be honest, I wont tell .

Why Not?
As you say, Dave, you are getting only 8-10 degrees out of your water. If your design is for the theoretical and ubiquitous 20 degrees, you are moving 2.0 to 2.5 times the water you need to.
Imagine using less than the current, what now, 45 Watts? I do not know what the savings ratio is with a PSC, (maybe linear if not square root and not cube-root), but still, you could drop your RPM down to a trickle and still heat your house.
Not that this is much of a dollar savings but every Loonie counts.
Why not do it and let us know? Cannot hurt and you will always have that spare circulator.0 -
Ya`know what Bradford,
I was leaning that way anyway, so I think I`ll try-it.
Whatever KW I can save will just give you guys more anyway, perhaps I`m doing you a favor?

I already am spinning a Wilo
so I suppose what you send our way will make it free?
As it is, I am running 4 feet of head and may try lower. All radiators toasty and the circulator megs out at about 16 Watts.
I suppose I will have to hook up our girl-cat S'More (aka "The Supervisor") to a treadmill.0 -
Still a die-hard
Taco guy here. As far as electricity goes, I would supply you free old friend, but I`m not the guy(in our case), running the country.
If you find-out before me who is, please let me know will ya?

That would be interesting
since the boiler modulates on delta t. Keep us informed.

I love Taco
the products and the people! Just that sometimes there are different worthy products abounding in this hobby I call a career.
And what do you mean you are not running Canada? All this time I was thinking that Harper was calling you for advice, not just on heating, but policy.0 -
Problem is Bradford,
he only calls me after he`s done your laundry.
Once you`ve been at him, anything I say goes out the window!

What's with the ball valve and boiler drain combo under the air elim? Don't trust the boiler drain seal?
Rob0 -
That was
a temporary connection point for the expansion tank, Rob. I cold not find a hose-end x 1/2" adapter but had that boiler drain valve handy. I never removed it.
(My expansion tank is connected via a stainless steel braided washing machine hose so I can move it out of the way in tight quarters).
The tank is now connected similarly to the low point of the low loss header.
Good eye, Rob!0 -
delta T Dave
Are you checking the delta T in high fire ? When the boiler modulates down the Delta T will go down too.0 -
It is
on the side of the motor, part of the pump. The Wilo Stratos Eco I assume you mean.0
