2 Pipe Vacuum Return
If an accumulator tank (with no pumps) is used in a vacuum return system should the tank be under a vacuum. The vacuum tank/pumps is pulling condensate return up from the accumulator tank. The vacuum gauge on the vacuum tank reads 10"hg. The air vent on the accumulator tanks is blowing air out. The vacuum pumps run constantly and when they are shut off the vacuum drops to 0 within seconds. Is my accumulator tank piped incorrectly?0 -
If you are referring
to the hurling water tank; the vacuum pump uses water in the tank for lubrication & vents the air, pulled from the system, out the vent on the hurling water tank.
Most systems, we work with, operate in the 3 to 8" vacuum range. Sounds like a big pump on a system w/ many leaks.0 -
