Guitar picks
It could be that the legs of the radiator are sticking to a hard floor when the radiator gets hot and expands. When it cools off, it shrinks and breaks free with a clank. My kitchen radiator was doing this until I slipped some slippery Delrin guitar picks under the feet. If you don't play guitar, you might just cut a few discs from a plastic milk jug and slide them under the radiator feet.
Hey, it's free and worth a shot!0
