Way Too Big

I finally decided to see just how oversized my steam boiler is. It's a 2001 Burhnam I6, which is rated for about 450 square feet of EDR. My radiators have only about 285 square feet of EDR. No wonder the boiler is continually bouncing off of the high pressure limit. It might also explain why my vents are so noisy. (The boiler does make steam in a hurry.)
The good news is that I have enough boiler to eventually add radiators to a couple of the unheated rooms. (This is on the five to ten year plan . . . lots to do in the meantime.)
The bad news is that my fuel bills are probably higher than they need to be.
Is there anything I can do about oversized boiler, except to replace it? . . . or do I just live with it?
