Setting Vaportrol properly

System works fine with a cut-out of 6-oz. What should the cut-in be set to? I have a differential of 4-oz set, meaning 2-oz cut-in, for lack of knowing what to set it at.
Recommendations? At present, the burner restarts after a 45 second+ break and then refires until pressure rises again.

Check the "short cycling on pressure" thread. We've been talking about adding short-cycle protection in series with the vaporstat. Your pressure is probably going to zero within a minute, like mine, so the differential you set doesn't matter much.
Are you getting all the radiators closed at 6 oz? Or are you just happy with the heat at that setting.0 -
All the radiators are almost hot with 6oz, then completely hot perhaps five minutes after two shut off cycles on pressure followed by two restart cycles. But it's a big building, so it takes a while to heat from a set-back. With an outdoor temp of 30* and indoor temp of 50*, the temp rises by 5* an hour to bring the temp to 68* in around 4 hours.
This is a building that is used for meetings and is only used two days a week for four or five hours at a time. Until installing the vaportrol, the burner fired non-stop for four hours to bring the temp up since it was running at a PSI that was never reached. I have yet to time how much on and off time there really is.
The vaportrol was motivated by steam shooting out of the boiler feed tank from pressure. This solved that problem.Steve from Denver, CO0
