HW loop on steam

Planning to redo the tile in the kitchen, an area where we've thought it'd be nice to (someday) heat via in-floor radiant with a hot water loop off of the steam boiler. Not ready to install, but because the flooring will be torn up anyway I'm wondering if there are any thoughts out there on best tubing schemes: staple up or some sort of above the subfloor setup. Is there a big difference?
And as to running a hw loop off a steam boiler, I know the maximum size of the loop is determined by the boiler (which, I guess, you'd not want to oversize relative to the EDR of connected STEAM radiators) but are there any drawbacks to be aware of? Is it hard on the boiler? Does it do anything whacky to the efficiency of the boiler? Gee whiz, I don't even know where to begin worrying...
Thanks,
Patrick

    I Would......

..... Size the loop to the heat loss of the room. Lay it above the sub floor in the mud. Insulate below the floor. Use a floor sensor and a tubing type heat exchanger in or off the boiler. I would mark the floor where cabnets and applianaces sit. Then Sprial into the center and Sprial back out ...
