radiator valves on monoflow

I am trying to balance the heat in my system by turning down the radiator valve on my monoflow. Will this diminish the flow in the rest of the system that it will adversely effect the pump or make it less efficient?

Not much that you could tell

One of the nice things about Monoflow systems over series loop is just that, you can have individual room control or at least balancing.

My last system, a 1-1/4" main Monoflow system with TRV's on all radiators, served me well for over 20 years. As valves close down, there is just more flow being bypassed to the next radiator and that means slightly hotter water to them too.

Now, there is that edict that when one removes a radiator from a Monoflow loop that you should re-connect the supply branch to the return branch so that the main pressure drop (all of those tees in series) does not compound to an excessive degree.

Personally, most valves never shut off entirely and if one or two do, I see no big deal, nothing happened that I knew of that would be objectionable.

No noise, for example and this was with a single-speed circulator.

Put in a variable speed circulator and I suppose even this "background problem", however it actually is, would not be of concern.
