HONEYWELL ZONE VALVE

The zone valve will turn off the buffer tank that stores chilled water for the dehumid system after it closes the heat pump then makes hot water for pool heating.

    honeywell zone valve

Is there anyway to make a zone valve close on call. Its in a geothermal system that heats a indoor swimming pool.

One heatpump heats pool and does dehumid for the room. I dont have the room for a second buffer tank so when the pool heater calls I am pumping from the HP into the HE without a buffer tank. I did the numbers and have the proper GPM for the geo unit on the supply side and with a pool heater there is never a short cycle.

I was also thinking of installing a 3way valve but would rather do it with a zone valve

Energize with 24 volts all the time and break that 24v source with an isolation relay when thermostat calls. Would need 2 sources of 24v, but not too difficult to wire.

I was thinking of that but just to simplify I want to use the end switch to turn the geo unit from heating to cooling

    Normally open zone valve

    Honeywell makes a normally open version of their zone valves. The V4043B is normally open-closes on a call. They make them 24v, 120v, 208v, 240v whatever you need. Their website is astoundingly complicated and huge. You can start here: http://customer.honeywell.com/Honeywell/UI/Pages/Catalog/ComponentCategory.aspx?Catalog=Homes&Category=Zone+Valves_26024&ChannelID={2EB2F178-20ED-44E0-97FB-CCFB4218DD64}
It takes a lot of careful reading to find the right one. Maybe you can get a sales type to help you navigate to what you need.
I used one a month ago to make a solar drainback system.

First I am confused already. Your heating more than one zone but cant do them at the same time(I have no experience with geothermal).
Cheap and easy to use a relay.
Priority zone calls for heat and powers the coil on a relay wired in parallel with zone valve, wire the common and normaly closed on relay in series to the other zone valve.
So when priority zone calls for heat the other zone will shut off . Ok Okay.

    Pool heating with geo

We use a 3 way diverter valve to heat the pools after cooling priority has ended.

You have to be extremely accurate on heat exchanger sizing to dump all of the energy the geo produces if you are not installing a dedicated buffer tank.

    I really dont understand?

So geothermal will heat a pool and give chilled water for dehumid ??
umm ok Its been a busy week I don't need to know how that works. wow . I am envyous sounds interesting and fun.
