pressure in boilers

Hi,
Question, if you have 6 modutor boilers feeding a loop with heats pumps on it (injection mixing
If temp drops below 70 degrees) and the loop is at 35 PSI can two of the boilers blow off (50 psi relief) if one of the boilers is air bound. In other words will the air expand higher than the water or will the boiler act as another extol.
Thanks
Joe

Air is far more compressible than water

The boiler will act as another "Extrol" as you put it, an expansion tank. Any air pocket would. But also consider that once the water pressure rises, so too will the air pressure, both would be equal but the initial air volume will be smaller.

If you are having a valve release incident, I would submit that you have other issues, possibly related to the expansion tank location, the overall expansion tank (or equivalent!) volume available to accept the expansion.

Are you having such a release and under what conditions?
