to automatically adjust the dampers on the original coal-fired boiler in your house. With a modern oil- or gas-fired boiler, we would use a pressure control called a Vaporstat to stop the burner if the pressure got too high.

Please don't discard it. If you don't want it, I know a Moline system expert up in Amboy who would want it.

Moline Vapor system question....

Do any of you know what a "Moline Sensitive Draft Regulator" was used for? It looks like it was supposed to be attached to the top of a boiler, along with a pressure gauge. You can see it in the schematic within the PDF on page 17 under "Resources:Library:Steam Vapor/Vacuum Heating:Moline System of Heating. I have found this item discarded under my front porch after many years with out it! Just wondering what it's original purpose was! Thanks!
