Baseboard heat, low heat, some zones no heat

Had one zone just wouldn't work. I have 3 thermostat controlled zones, white-rogers 1361-103 valves. Dial on valve would spin but usually would feel little to no heat on the pipe. Deciced to pull the valve apart. There was a lot of play in the action of the stem and I believe the motor was turning but the stem was not. I removed the stem and reinstalled the valve head until I get a replacement. Upon refilling, bleeding and restarting the system, the other zone were iffy until I raised the pressure to about 23psi. The circulating pump has also been doing some off and on humming as late. Is the pump probably going?

What kind of pump? Taco, B&G, 3piece?
    Can you post any pics?

    Pump type

Pump type is Grundfos. I have already replaced it and have heat circulating well now. I do also have White-Rogers 1361-103 zone valves as well and one zone valve (although i haven't torn the others apart) has enough slop on the stem that I believe sometimes the motor spins but the valve stem does not, therefore limited to no heat in that zone. I have removed the stem for now until I get a replacement, so whenever one off the other 2 zones is on, that one warms as well. Should I tear apart the other valves and check? I have lived here 12 years and have no idea how long the unit has been here. Has been relatively maintenance free.
