How to properly set cut-out pressure of vaportrol?

In all the reading of Dan's books and here on the wall, I have never seen instructions on how to determine the correct cut-out and cut-in pressure of a steam boiler.
My intuition has the cut-out when radiators are half hot, since by that point, they will be all hot in another couple minutes, but I really don't know.
How do the steam pros set their vaportrols?

I usually start
with a Main setting of 8 ounces and a Diff of 6. This will cycle the boiler between 8 and 2 ounces. Many Vapor systems were designed around a maximum pressure of 8 ounces.
A low-pressure gauge- one that reads in ounces or inches of water- is a big help when setting up a Vaporstat. You can actually see what pressure the system runs at during different parts of the cycle.
The 30-pound gauge must remain to satisfy Code.
