It's a tradition in our home that Dad (that's me) cooks the Turkey and all the fixins'. I really do enjoy the satisfied looks at the table.

I have not had the courage yet to fry one yet, maybe next year...

Deep Fried Turkey

is something to do! First had it in Louisiana over ten years ago. Moist and delicious with crispy skin. Not greasy surprisingly. Takes minutes per pound, I forget how fast, but it seemed like 1/4 the time and not dry at all.

Those big deep propane fired kettles go for about $50 to $80 last I checked. In Louisiana they call them "Cajun Microwaves"

We all need to give Thanks!!!

We had a friend, 42, who has children 6 and 10, same age as mine, fall down 4 steps onto concrete on the 16th of November and die. We are standing ready to help her husband and children in any way we can. Of course we count our blessings every day and perhaps look a little more closely at the blessings that are spread among us!!

Everyone have a happy Thanksgiving and enjoy each day as if it was your last!!
