    whistling blower

Hey, had this one thrown at me today from a local wholesaler. They sold a furnace to a contractor and after the installation was complete the furnace blower whistles? The contractor insisted it was a bad blower wheel so the wholesaler replaced it under warranty but this did not fix the problem!! They've asked me to look into the problem, it sounds like it's starving for air would be my 1st guess. What do ya think?

    whistling

I've had to do the same and the blower was actually fine. The culprit of the whistle was the return air. It was not aligned properly, and the air being sucked through that was causing the whistle. Never seen it before and haven't seen it since.

    radiators whistle

I rent a vintage apartment in Chicago and the old radiators whistle like mad. The management refuse to even look at them. Is there any way to remedy this issue? The noise comes from these bullet shaped items at one end of each unit. Thank you for any help you may offer.

    radiator whistle

Jesse, the bullet shaped items are air vents. The steam radiators in your apartment work when the steam displaces the cold air in the radiator. Unfortunately, this sometime causes a "whistling" noise to come from the air vents. Just the nature of the beast I am afraid. Some of the guys on here are better steam guys than I and they may have an old dead-man trick. Thanks.
