pri-sec with burnham S2 and corn boiler, radiant & baseboard

Hello, I have a corn boiler (60K btu)to add to an existing burnham system (60-70K) that had 2 zones of baseboards. (2) years ago we added onto the house with 2 floors of Warmboard (800s.f.) Added another circulator w/2 zones & mixing at that time. The system was orginally installed in the early 80's with 2 circulators, pumping through the boiler, and not enough isolation valves.

Since it's the heating season, I don't really want to reconfigure the boiler piping to "pump away" and create the "near perfect" piping scenario. I am willing to do that in the spring! My original thought was to install the corn boiler in the garage, isolate it from the burnham with a flat plate heat exchanger, and let the burnham's circulators pump through the heat exchanger to pick-up the heat, before the burnham's burner fires. I'm in somewhat of a rural area of western wisconsin and have dealt with (3) of the local contractors and I'm not so confident that they are the right people for the job. I don't want to pay somebody $2K+ to make mistakes. I can do that!

In summary, I'm looking for a way to "patch-in" a corn boiler for the heating season, with some preparation for reconfiguring the boiler piping at the burnham in the spring.

I know there are plenty of details omitted, but I was trying to keep this short.

Thanks in advance,

Tim
