Water Noise
Hi,
I wanted to see how to solve this noise. I have baseboard water radiators and every so often when the water runs through the pipes it sounds like a water fall or water pipe broken when no water is visable. Is it because there air in the system and how would i bleed that out. I do not see a bleed valve on the baseboard heaters? Thanks0 -
Water noise
it could be a number of things not the least of which is requiring bleeding. I would suggestyou have a professional take a look at it.
Is the heating of the area being affected?
Is this just when the circulator first comes on?0 -
Bleeding
I just went through this - there may not be bleed valves at the radiators. Look for a bleed valve (it looks like a conventional hose bib) just above the circulator. Attach a short hose to that.
Now look for an isolator valve between the bleed valve and the boiler. It may look like a conventional valve, it may just be a screw head showing in the side of the flange connecting to the circulator pump (if so, it controls an internal ball valve).
Turn off the system, close the isolator valve, and put the hose in a bucket with a shallow bit of water (to keep air from being drawn back in). Open the bleed allowing the refill on the boiler to push the water from teh boiler through the baseboards and back to the bleed. Watch for air bubbles to come through the bucket. Be ready with spare buckets.

Water fall noises
are usually air-related.
"helper" raises a good point for an initial pre-purge, however you should have a good A/S on the boiler`s supply(before the circ), somewhere for constant elimination.
