New Steam Boiler Install

My system works awesome. Its been 2 years since I had heat (good heat anyhow). I'd like to thank everybody who helped me and answered my countless questions. A huge thanks to Mr. Holohan for writing the books I should have had long ago. I now see why all you folks try to educate about steam, its tricky but when it works it works well. Thank you!!!

I know not what you speak of

There was no mention of a draft hood in any of the instructions

It's probably built into the boiler.

COPPER PIPE into the boiler ?????

Why the copper pipe after doing the rest of the system in iron?

I knew Id get it for that

I had it left over, and it fit. Didn't think it was a big deal because its not carrying steam. Neatness counts I know.

    Nice....

Drop Header. Copper below the water line should not be a problem. Nice neat pipe work.

    Cheers,

Nice install Stewy! The steam piping is rock solid. I don't use any copper, but below the water line I wont really fault anyone for it. That's not as objectionable as some other things could be.

    My only two criticisms are:

    1. The flex lines connecting the feeder look sloppy, Id rather see some hard copper. But that's opinion. It doesn't effect functionality.

    2. The flex electrical line. In my state, MA, that would not fly. You need rigid conduit.

    Great install overall.
