Disappearing Propane

Are you judging by the guage on the tank? Where are is the tank located? Could it be the changing of the weather? The colder it gets, the lower the tank guage will go. I have seen it numerous times. Just a thought.

Disappearing Propane
My client wants to know where it is going.
Even when they are not using appliances there seems to be a disproportionate shrinkage.
Supplier says it is not the tank or regulator.
Installer says it is not the distribution piping.
He has pressure tested, bubble tested and says he has had a guy out with a gas sniffer.
I even put the soapy stuff to all connnections but no bubbles anywhere.
Could it be the gas valves in the appliances. Two fireplaces and a garage heater.
I am inclined to believe my client that something is amiss.
Any ideas.
Everything is OFF for the moment for safeties sake.
Thanks

What type of heating system . We just had a case , the hot water system would not ever make temperture , We notice that the meter was always turning , with all the fixtures turn off. Long short , there was a small 1/2 line that when under ground .It had a leak .

Isolate and test
shut off everything with a valve and see if it drops if so then it is in the tank or piping.
If not then isolate each piping system.
If you are losing propane with nothing on then there is a leak somewhere.
Make sure the propane dealer tests all the piping and the tank.0 -
add a meter
to accurately check actual usuage vs the tank guage and fill amounts. any major weather change??0 -
Get the line into the
house up to pressure at about 10" W.C. by the manometer ("U" Gauge)Isolate the system by shutting off the valve. If there is a drop in pressure there is a leak somewhere.
Keep in mind also that gas fireplaces and garage heaters tend to use a lot more gas thna people realize.0
