Well, it was a great Big Ugly. It was our pleasure to meet and hang out with Norm & Kelly, Brad, Timmie & Judy, and Gardner (sp?). Great time and a worthy cause. Just another reason to think hard about making the move WAAAYYY east of home. Thanks to everyone for a great time! If any of 'yall find yourselves in the west desert, look me up and I guarantee we will have a 'blast'...We appreciate the good time everyone we have met here have shown us, even though the Pats lost this week...

As we consider NE for a place to live, a factor in this is the friendships started here on the wall. We had the pleasure of great company for dinner last night, Brad White and the lovely Susan. Great people, and a great time. The folks I have met here will make it much easier to consider a move to a place I have never been before. I am looking forward to the BU coming up Saturday and the company it will bring. Here's to a great meeting place and a great host, Dan...

Hey, it works for the Gorton's fisherman.
Just take them to L.L. Bean.0 -
I could never get tired of the stone wall and greyed shingle look. Great spreads, and views even for this time of year. Little Compton was very nice, and we have several more properties to look at in the next few days. RI is a great place to be...

I've never lived in RI, but it HAS to be better than MASS.
Try to stay on the RI side of the border.
See you Saturday Tim!

We could tell the second we left Little Compton & Tiverton and entered Fall River. No comparison...

Did you get a chance to hear the great "Fawl Wiver" accent?!

We stopped at a CV and the accent was pretty much the same as everywhere else to us. I could barely understand a guy in Little Compton we asked about antique stores. It all sounds like the Bawstin accent to us...some more than others. I noticed even the weather report has a Pats symbol on the days they play...and EVERYONE has a Redsox hat...I hope no one here finds out I am a lifelong Raiders fan.

Long as,,,
you're not a Yankees fan you're ok there. LOL...
I took a boat tour of the Hyannispot harbor one time. Nothing but gray shingles everywhere on the shoreline. I wondered aloud what they would do if someone came along and stuck a bright red building smack dab in the middle of it all. I was answered by both chuckles and looks of horror.0 -

What a game! The Pats practically gave it away penalties and poor defense. Farve looked fantastic though! The game looked like a slaughter untill the last minute heroics.
In the end the Jets won, but I think rightly so the way they dominated for much of the game.

Today we had the pleasure of being shown around by Timmie & his lovely wife Judy. A great time was had by all, and we truly appreciate the time he took to show us areas we likely would not have seen, including his very well equipped training center. The man knows his CO. Say hello to Fluffy for us, Tim!

Likewise Tim!
We had a fantastic time. Great to meet everyone, great venue.
Thanks to Timmie and Judy for hosting. We should have more of these, they're always a good time.

Oh sure,,,
while you guys were getting all big and ugly I was laying out and wiring down a bunch of HePEX all day. Seems like a fair tradeoff though, I think. There's something about the look of a freshly laid out radiant grid that makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. It's a shame we have to go and pour all that nasty concrete on it and hide it forever. A buddy of mine suggested we should pour them with acrylic instead. Glad you guys had a nice eventful vacation!0 -

3rd annual Big Ugly Western Mass
pre-party update. I have picked July 11 2009 for the date. Just a reminder so you can put it on your calendar. Menu about same as last year unless I change it but definitely steamers. I will post it in it's own thread in the new year. Ruthe0
