    white house

I had a customer ask me what kind of system is in the White House. He explained that he worked there years back and always found it comfortable.

    in theory

its an ideal system, but the politicians keep screwing it up.

too bad government couldn't run off of outdoor reset.

I have a job in the White House " complex " ( some townhouses right across PA. Ave. ). District steam to shell and tubes is the heat. AC I can't say...I'd imagine Trane Chilled water from somewhere , but that's just a guess. Controls are " generic " on my project ( I could provide a better product by myself ) , I hope the " Big House " has better.

I believe it's a system of 'checks' and 'ballvalves'...or is it balances...

I don't know what type of system it is but it certainly produces a lot of hot air.

    Yorkie

Seems to me I recall seeing a York ad where they say their chillers cool the WH and capitol.

    La Masion Blanche

La Masion Blanche (the White House) has hot water heat with thermostatic valves on constant circulation.

    ok...

what heats the water ? Is it the same district steam I'm getting across the street ?

nevermind...I was just thinking of the 1 inch " man-bars " I had to install in 6 inch round duct in Arlington , VA. I'm sure the White House is a " stand alone " system with security measures I can't even begin to imagine.

ever notice that the econo-politicians, in describing our present situation, use mainly hydronic terminology:
    cashFLOW, LIQUIDity, downward PRESSURE?
obviously whoever is put in charge of those matters should be required to take several of dan's courses, and then go out on diagnostic calls with one of the wallies.
that would set up his/her brain for real work!
world plumber can provide the details from his french chateau on the french politician who had been a hydronics expert in real life!--nbc
