I have a 14 ft. piece of CI Baseboard to replace. Its about 60 or mre years old. The problem is its a long run and after the steam gets up it starts spitting water at the air valve. Now its piped this way to understand---
comes out the floor 1 1/4; tees out of floor then theres a 1 1/4 90 on top of that. The tee is the return ; the 90 is the feed; air valve ia at the end oof the run at the bottom tee when it comes back.. Now remember the feed and return 1 1/4 is on the same pipe..How is that and why did it work for years now do what it does...Yes its pitched properly also..

Usually has a limitation of nine feet to avoid that sort of silliness. Even then, if shorter but approaching that limitation, the longer is is, the more likely it will force condensate down those narrow passages and hit the vent.

It may be possible to install a direct express return at the end and take that directly down to below the waterline, but your installation logistics may not allow that. Consider that a theory.

Short of that, adding another section elsewhere and cutting this one down may be the key.
