This is an excellent text book. It has a lot of complex formulas....but if you ignore those to start....the content and organization is very good. This book helped me sort out some temperature control jobs, particularly details about cooling tower performance and function. It is the "Handbook of Air Conditioning and Refrigeration, Shan K. Wang, McGraw-Hill Publishing. It includes heating applications; as that is included in the term air conditioning.

Apprentic Looking For Help
I am an apprentic plumber looking for ways to expand my knowledge on heating. Does anyone know of any good books, websites i can look at or read that will help me get a better understanding of heating and all the systems. Or something i can do when im not working to help me learn better and faster on heating and plumbing. Thank you very much0 -
Start with THE book and THE website. You already found the website. There are lots of free resources if you look around. If you want a really good understanding of Hydronics get THE book "Modern Hydronic Heating for Residential and Light Commercial Buildings" by John Seigenthaler. If you want to understand Steam buy Dans book available in the website store.
I would also highly recommend visiting www.radiantpanelassociation.com and looking into their courses. IBR also has a good curriculum.
And don't forget to ask us Wallies lots of questions.0 -

The right place
It took me 20 years to find this place and then 5 years to re-find it. I see names here that are a blast from the past.
We have two rules here, at our company.
1. Schools, buy the books, or go to the libary, sign up for anything they will send you.
2. Tools, buy the books, or go to the libary, sign up for anything they will send you, get the boss to send YOU, get good wrenches, buy the books and keep an open informed mind.

Just read the posts here regularly...you can't help but learn something every night. And buy 'modern hydronics'!

Manufacturer's Websites
Besides the Wall and the great books available, you can find tons of heating information on manufacturer's sites. Heatlink,Taco,Wattsradiant,Uponor,etc.,etc.,etc. Some can't remember which ones, have complete radiant install manuals. Most boiler sites show near boiler piping designs. In this business you never run out of things to read. Good luck0
