Welcome back my friend
Saw $1.99 gas at my favorite station this morning. For some reason, it brightened my day. Go figure.
It sure would be nice to see a 'trickle down' effect -- brightening a lot of faces and giving hope for the economy.0 -

Was $1.99 here Outside philly for about 4 hours at 1 local station. Local fuss came and made station raise price or hire traffic control. Traffic was about 30 deep in all 4 directions and station is on main highway thru town.0 -

very bad
I think the low prices stink. Why? because people become complacent we still need to get off foreign oil. We need to invest heavilly in alternative energy and make the switch. Painful in the short term but much better in the long term for all of us. Better for home owners who will upgrade their homes, better for buinesses that do the same and will create hundreds of thousands of new jobs.better for our kids and our air.
for that to happen we need oil at say 100 per barrel to get smart minds and big companies GE,Bell labs etc to commit serious money to the problem if they can't see a payout consistantly then it won't happen. We had the lead in solar, wind, nuclear at one time we need to get it back.0 -
Yep.....
....what Joel said!0 -
I somewhat
agree. It seems if we had an automatic tax on oil say whenever it goes below a certain level (75/100 per barrel) the price would stay at that level with the "overage" going into a fund for alternatives.
My wife and I keep asking ourselves why, with all the smart people in this country, we are in this mess. If they played less politics and more creative thinking we would all be better off.
Oh, in keeping with the topic-gas hit $2.02 in our town today and wondering who will cross the two dollar per gallon first.0
