I went to this job today, a year after I installed it to do the annual maintenance. I cant believe I forgot to take pictures of it last year!

I am very happy with it as is the customer. He had high baseboard heat all through out the house with a botched boiler and piping job. He had a decent sized addition built onto the house which I installed Uponor quik-trac radiant heat.

The system is injection pumping to a remote radiant manifold controlled by a Uponor (tekmar) ProMix 311 to provide Domestic hot water to an Amtrol indirect, 180 water to his baseboard heaters, and Out Door Reset on the control for the radiant manifold.

Each loop has its own telestat, and each thermostat is a Uponor 501s with a floor sensor.

The performance last wither was great, and the customer is very happy.

A few notes:
The customer is a bit "difficult" and he insisted on a single pass boiler as opposed to a three pass because of his budget,... Hey I tried my best but I lost that argument.

All of the low voltage wiring for the telestats are run behind the wall for neatness. I think it looks sharp.

The Radiant manifold has a differential Pressure by Pass valve to relieve pressure as zoned telestats close.

There is a boiler bypass with a flow setter built into the manifolds at the boiler.

The auto feeder valve for the boiler has my little trademark thing,... the half inch tee with a plug between the auto feeder and the ball valve to isolate it from the system. This way I can isolate the system, remove the plug in order to add a pressure gauge to check what the auto feeder is set to.

Im happy with the job, but as always, I am very open to constructive criticism, so please What could I do better?

I also added one of My youngest, Elizabeth AKA "Honey Girl" because it was also on the camera.

    Nice Job Norm!

Very nice, beautiful in fact. Quite an accomplishment to be proud of and greatly skilled use of piping.

The heating job is excellent too, as usual. :)

I appreciate the "greatly skilled use of piping" I had to show Kelly that as some kind of validation. She got a kick out of that.

    Anything?

Okay, I'll criticise. I could have lined up the "uponor" branding on the telestat heads for a better photo, and cleaned up the low voltage wiring above the ProMix control for the picture. (I swear I didnt leave it like that after the install. I wonder if someone went exploring in that area since)

    Anything else?

    real nice work, Norm

You might insulate some of that bare copper, that mechanical space must get very warm. Try to lose as little as possible in the boiler room.

Consider the unistrut clamps with the rubber inserts to allow some pipe movement. Tightly clamped pipes can sometimes make noise as the heat and cool and even "wear into the tube.

If you and the customer are pleased, then it is a successful job.

Nice organized use of space Norm, one thing I saw is when you

have some running of solder, wipe with dry rag while still hot to clear goobers then polish off solder with sand paper a little after cool enough. This makes for a nice clean solder joint. Little picky but easy and really does make it look cleaner. Tim
