estimates?

discuss it with just one owner, go to a condo meeting and discuss it openly there. I was a condo association pres for a while and sometimes the people would go off on a tangent all their own and usually that causes more problems than it's worth. Wouldn't wish the "office" on anyone. There's always at least one if not a few loose cannons running around in them that manage to make life miserable for everyone else. I could tell you stories for hours and I didn't do it all that long.

So I give an estimate to a condo association pres for a tekmar 279. A week later, I get a call from a condo owner asking for clarification on what this thing does and how it works. He then asks me about the estimate and wants to know how I came up with the price of X, which is $500 more than my estimate to the association pres. Does the association own my estimate, or am I proud of my estimate and ready to discuss it with anyone affected?

    Agreed

Offer to speak to the board/owners at one of their monthly meetings. I wouldn't like to assume that the person you are using as a go between has the ability to explain the project scope or benefits accuratly.

As an aside the mystery $500 addition may be a contingency factor in case something else comes up in the course of the project that would be of benefit to address at the same time.

Nothing wrong for planning for the inevitable.

    I'm confused

How could you have gien two estimates ??

If the one to the Pres. was higher than I would understanding. He's tacking on a little something.
