Tomorrow - a 98% eff modcon furnace - GrandPAH

Off topic a wee bit, but I've got a 98% eff mod-con furnace perched on the back of my truck & tomorrow we'll be installing the beastie.
Say what you will about FHA, but this is the first mod-con furnace ever to hit the market. Range is from 35% to 100% of its firing rate.
Nice to see the energy bar on the yellow rating sticker (on any appliance) jammed all the way to the right as the most efficient available today.
The times they be a-changing!

Are you sure that
the "This End Up" sticker is also pointing in the right direction?
Good news, Dave! Keep us posted.
Our inner cynics demand it.

I'm putting 1 of those critters in also. The upstairs on a large lake home. Basement and main floor are radiant powered by a knight.0 -
I sure hope that it will be installed in a very well sealed, well balanced, fully returned duct system designed for heating only.0 -
Those have been around for
a while now. Does yours have an ECM motor, if so be sure to set it up correctly.0 -
So is that why
you got your picture in Wholesaler magazine?

Who's the mfr ????

???
I doubt it as we're not a York dealer. York wants their dealers to agree to sell only York with possible exceptions for a second line, but not more than one added line. If I agreed to that, I'd be lying. We deal with multiple brands.
Just got a look at the pic. That was a surprise & no advance notice was given to me.0 -
A/C?
Thanks Tim, we will. We've dealt with ECM motors previously.
Curious as to why you noted no A/C Mike? If you've dealt with this new modcon and had any issues, I'd sure appreciate a heads-up so I can react accordingly.0 -
It's
York, or Johnson Controls, and this is the first modcon furnace to hit the streets. It will glide from 35% to 100% of its BTU rating in 1% incriments. Like having 65 furnaces in one.0 -
In a bit of hot water, aren't ya?
Saw your Fine Homebuilding article today. Thanks & congratulations. I'd say "Live long & prosper," but I'm not really a Trekkie. Anyway, good one.0 -
Well I'm still
gonna get it autographed ;-) BTW, thanks for referring that guy who's looking at radiant.

no problem
always glad to be in the referral business when I can point to those I know will do right by the customer.
Autographs cost one beer each(G). If I ever get popular, I'll be passed out in the corner!
Remember - vote & vote often for the upcoming Pres election!0
