Crown Boilers

Since you guys stole Brett Farve from us, I only think it is fair that a little advice about Crown boilers come our way.

The insurance agent who lost his son in Iraq last year is building a new very practical and energy efficient house. Ken and Lynne are being showered with offers of help.

I have known Ken for over ten years and I know he insures many trade related people. Trouble is he is getting too much advice and some is, lets say questionable. Yesterday a school friend of his said he would get him a "Crown" NG gas boiler near or at cost.

Any pros or cons about the Crown line and their midwest
reps??

I am totally out of the loop regarding this boiler!

Thanks in advance!

Rich IIRC you are in Milwaukee. I am just down the road in Waterford and had a Crown boiler put in my house 2 years ago. It is a very nice boiler. The supply house it came from is in Wind Lake. Can't remember the name right now. I did some research at the time, and certainly would not be worried about the quality of the Crown. No common problems with these boilers that I could turn up. Have a great day!

the outer jackets are thin and flimsy but

the boiler is well made with few complaints. Just like most things: you take care of it and it will take care of you.

Crown is a good boiler from a great company. I have attended several training sessions they have offered, the most recent just last night. They are responsive, and stand behind their products.

Unlike some companies who try to get out of Warranty issues by making it difficult, or impossible to get help, Crown is the type of company that will look to resolve & fix any problems that arise. I've installed more of their gas than oil products, and hav come across a few issues with a modcon install that I inherited. There were several problems requiring replacement parts, all of which were self inflicted by the original installer. Crown warranteed each part, and in made the part available in 24 hours- I was impressed.

The Oil & atmospheric boiler installs we have are all trouble free.

Maybe one problem with a noisy burner a few years back, I called them and they said, "We're aware of this, change the nozzle to XXXX and you should be all set." Fixed it right up. I do understand they had a recall on certain CWI models(gas fired) which you can find info on here at this site under the "Resources" tab and then "Heating Alerts" tab. My condolences to them on the loss of their son. I'm a vet and I mourn the loss of each and every young soul who has given their all for us.
