steam boiler fire temp

I have a new customer who needs their old, low pressure steam boiler religned with fire brick. I can't fire right now due to gas valve issues as well. So I need to estimate their fire chamber temp to get the right fire brick. Of course no information of any kind. It is an old Kewaunee, converted from coal once upon a time to strictly gas now.
I figured 2500* brick would be adequate, would like approval or disapproval of this from some wise ones on this site. Thank you in advance for your help.

fire temp
Who makes the burner? They should be able to tell you the temp of the flame. Wouldn't replacing the boiler be a better option? An old Kewanee boiler can't be that efficient.

I believe
a natural gas flame is 1800º F or so. So the bricks you mention should be fine.

Firebrick
A gas flame can typically run from 3000 degrees to 3300 degress depending on combustion conditions.
Standard 2500 degree Babcok and Wilcox fire brick is acceptable for building a chamber. By the way building a chamber is an art so I hope you are an artist!0
