Do you have any in for a year or so?

Just wondering how they are holding up? I just quoted one and I hope it isn't a maintenance nightmare...

    Steam humidifiers

We are looking for recommendations for a steam humidifier for a large home. We have used several different makes with mixed results. Does anyone out there install these and what would you recommend to you best friend? It needs to be a plenum mount because of the tight space under the ductwork.

Armstrong and Nortec are my favorite commercial units. The installing mechanic will determine how well either of these work ( there are many things that can go wrong on these from improper installation ).

    Which one.

I like the EWC Controls steam humidifiers.Nice size. How many air handlers do you have? How big is the house?

Look into the "truesteam" by honeywell. VERY easy to install with a couple of different install locations, including remote mount. The first one I install took a long time, about 45 minutes, start to finish. Very nice unit and it was worth the wait.

We got one from the first batch sent out last year. It was in for the last portion of heating season last year. It didn't seem to be too difficult to maintenance from the paperwork. It does a self cleaning after so many hours of operation to remove build up before it gets a chance to really build and get hard. I will be going back to this job next month just to check on humidifer. I can keep you updated.
