    NOT GOOD

    I HAVE A BURNHAM HOT WATER BOILER ABOUT 15 YEARS OLD..IT CONSTANTLY BURNS WITH A YELLOW FLAME AND CARBONIZES WITH WHITE SOOT..ALSO THE PILOT SEEMS A LITTLE TO BIG BOUT 4 INCHES HIGH ..TRIED TO ADJUST IT WITH THE PILOT ADJUSTMENT ON THE GAS VALVE BUT NOTHING HAPPENS..ANYONE HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS??

    time to have it cleaned. Need burners & pilot pulled and cleaned

    brush out heat exchanger and check flue for obstructions. then fire & analyze flue gasses. Good luck

    I that same type problem but with a NEW boiler. The pilot flame was about 7 inches tall and yellow. With a CO detector in the vent connectors it was producing almost 500 ppm of carbon monoxide.

    The entire pilot assembly was replaced and that took care of the CO. The pilot flame was less than a inch and the CO reading went down to 22 ppm.
