It is unlikely any manufacturer will give you advise changing- what is their product that has met many government and insurance issues. The first time there is a CO issue or a cracked block, you will find yourself with more than a smaller boiler....

removing a section from a V905 A
Any other considerations I should know about?
I would like to convert my V905A in to a V904A by removing a section from the boiler. I further want to up grade to a dual fuel burner(nat. gas and oil) is this possible with a good result in efficiency?
is there a parts list of what is needed to do the conversion? Thanks0 -
Burnham V9A
It should not be difficult at all to convert, you will have to get a new jacket and canopy for sure and new clean outs would not hurt either. The V9 is rated for Gas , Oil or Gas/Oil. You can order a new Powerflame or Gordon-Piatt dual fuel burner through Burnham, I know both PF and GP are out about 6 weeks right now on those burners. You will also need to order a new rating plate to affix to the boiler listing both fuels. If you contact your local Burnham distributor they will get in touch with the rep who will make sure you have everything you need.

When you call Burnham; they well probably tell you "it wasn't tested for that."0 -
I don't think they will give you new tag but definately you
will need new canopy & case and maybe mounting plate for new burner. It still may be worth calling Burnham on what is the lowest you can fire the boiler the way it is. My guess is maybe 50% of full capacity would be appx the #. Good luck, tim0
