Radiant tubing below stairway?

I'm pouring a 3"- 4" concrete floor in my entry soon. I've placed 2" Extruded Styrofoam Insulation on grade to insulate. I'm placing 1/2" Pex 12" on center in the concrete. I have a stairway above one section. Should I run the pex in the slab under the stairs? Some of the space will be used as a closet. I'm thinking yes, because the warm space under the stairs will help to warm the stairway itself.

Is the stairway
against outside walls? If it's all interior I wouldn't put any under there, unless it's a walkway. If you're walking under there and it's a hard surface you'll likely notice a cool floor compared to other warm areas. Otherwise if there's no heat loss for the area I wouldn't bother.
As far as a noticable affect on the serface temps of the treads I don't think you'll see any.
The only time I do radiant stairs is on snowmelt.0 -

Radiant Stairs
Sure, put radiant under the stairs. The more average temperature you have throughout the house, the more comfortable the house is. The more radiant you put in the house, the lower the water temperature to heat the house, the more efficient the heating system becomes. I put radiant in a base of cement under the bathtubs, and I put radiant under the granite countertops also.

tube in slab
Thanks. I put the pex tube in the slab under the stairs - it was easier than not doing it. The stairs are against an outside wall. The closet under the stairs will benefit - my winter coat will be warm! I'll also take a hint from you and run some tube under the treads themselves after I build the stairs. Great idea about the countertops too.0 -
You will be glad you did
Everyone else does it different, but if you think about it this is the way to go.
